Piston/Rider Rings
Klaus
manufactures a variety of compressor pistons. They are available in a multitude
of designs and materials to suit your application. Whether aluminum, steel or cast iron, only the highest quality of
certified materials are used. Two or three piece pistons with steel inserts are
also available. In order to extend piston life, aluminum pistons can be
anodized.
Finished
pistons are checked for dimensions, porosity and weight to insure safety and
OEM specifications.
Piston rings stop the flow of gas between a
piston and cylinder. Rider rings support and align the piston. Piston rings
must lie flat against side of the groove to minimize leakage. Straight and
angle cut rings are widely used in applications which permit slight, controlled
leakage. However, for increased sealing efficiency, rings may be furnished with
a step cut. Add an expander, and step cut rings create an even more effective
seal in both directions.
Piston rings can be one piece or segmented
types. Ring materials are available in Carbon filled Teflon, Glass Moly filled
Teflon, Bronze filled Teflon, Nylon and PEEK.
