Valve reconditioning is strictly controlled
under ISO 9001 procedures. The following procedure is followed on a consistent
basis:
Incoming valves are tagged with a unique job
number. Valves are taken apart. As valves are measured an inspection sheet is
filled out. Any problems are recorded and brought to the attention of our
in-house engineer for clarification.
If broken parts are found and the failure is caused by incorrect settings, materials, lift or springs, we will contact the customer and get the present operating conditions and solve the problem by engineering calculations.
As valves are de-greased seats and guards are
sandblasted and checked for cracks. All internals, including plates and
springs, are discarded and never to be re-used. All valve seats are machined or
lapped to ensure perfect finish and flatness.
If identical valves in the same cylinder have
different lifts or springs we will standardize them with the same lift, springs
and spring pockets for best valve performance.
QC will check correct parts, tolerances and finally perform a sealing leak test.
